Details:
Companies were dispatched for the reported dwelling
fire. Engine Company 26 arrived with smoke showing from a 1.5 story
single family dwelling. As crews made entry into the first floor, the
initial engine wouldn’t go into pump and they had to deal with a dead hydrant.
The second due engine completed a split lay to get them water. Due
to the malfunction, engine companies in the rear had fire showing from the
basement and were given the permission to attack the fire as crews on the first
floor held the steps. The fire was knocked down within 20 minutes and
there were no reported injuries.
Two turtles were located and removed from the house
alive and kicking.
