GARLAND, MAINE - The jaws of life were needed to remove a man from a pickup truck following a collision in Garland, Maine this morning.


Officials say a truck was plowing a driveway when it backed up and hit a Ford Ranger traveling on the Oliver Hill Road just after 11:30.

James Green, 27, and his passenger Jerome Green, 59, were hit on the right side of the vehicle.

Crews had to pull the car apart in order to get Jerome out of the truck.

Officials say the operator of the truck, Ethan Santos, 24, didn't see the vehicle traveling down the road.

No one was injured from the accident.

MILLINOCKET, MAINE - One person is dead following a terrible crash in Millinocket.

It happened around 4:30 Tuesday afternoon near Central Street and Huber Road in Millinocket.  Police tell us two cars were involved in the crash and one person has died as a result of their injuries.


Traffic was shut down for hours as police reconstructed the accident scene. We're told that traffic is flowing again.

Both local and state police were on scene, they are investigating what caused this crash.

DENHAM SPRINGS, LA (WAFB) - A head-on collision Tuesday morning involving a school bus and a car sent more than a dozen people to the hospital with injuries, with one victim suffering injuries considered major.

The Livingston Parish Sheriff's Office reported 15 people went to the hospital as a result of a crash that happened on Brown Road off Brandon Street in Denham Springs. 
Witnesses said the bus was headed to Juban Parc Elementary.

Deputies said the students on the bus suffered minor injuries in the wreck, but those who were taken to the hospital have been treated and released. They added the driver of the car was taken to the hospital with major injuries. The driver's name was not released.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.

WHITEFIELD, N.H. (AP) - Authorities say no injuries have been reported in a collision between a plow truck and a school bus without students in Whitefield, New Hampshire.

A state Department of Transportation spokesman says the accident happened Tuesday morning near White Mountains Regional High School.

The school bus was heading south and the plow truck was heading north. A car went around the bus in the path of the oncoming plow truck, which swerved to avoid it, resulting in the collision.

SOUTH STORMONT, ONTARIO, CANADA. -- Police have re-opened a section of Highway 401 in eastern Ontario following a fatal collision between a tractor trailer and a passenger vehicle.

The incident happened in South Stormont Township near  Cornwall around 6 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 3, 2015.

Police say two men in the passenger vehicle were fatally injured during the collision.

They have been identified as Robert Springer, 54, of Cornwall, and Daniel Figura, 22, of Dollard-Des-Ormeaux, Quebec.

The driver of the tractor trailer, a 47-year old man from Brampton, Ontario, was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Police say the tractor-trailer unit was eastbound on Highway 401 when it collided with a passenger vehicle.

A section of eastbound Highway 401 was closed to traffic (between McConnell Avenue and Boundary Road) for several hours while police investigated.

Police say officers are also busy with several other collisions on Highway 401 in the area due to adverse road conditions and are urging motorists to drive cautiously.

CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) — Officials confirm that one person was killed after Chesterfield school bus and car collided Tuesday morning.




Officials tell us that 26-year-old Noel R. Santos, the driver of the car that ran into the bus, was pronounced dead at the scene. Santos, of the 1300 block of Creekglen Lane, was the car’s only occupant.




No one on the bus was injured.




Police said the car collided with the bus about 8:30 a.m. at the intersection of Old Hundred Road and Creekpointe Circle in the Midlothian area of Chesterfield County. Old Hundred Road is currently closed from Watermill Parkway to Otterdale Road.




Four kids were on the bus which was heading to the Center-Base gifted program at Greenfield Elementary. They were not hurt and will be heading to school shortly.




V-dot has done two studies in the area in the last two years to see if it’s safe and as a result, they’ve added more signs for drivers approaching around the curve.




The department has kept the speed limit at 45 miles per hour.

There was one other crash similar to this one where someone pulled out into oncoming traffic, but that was not fatal.




After this tragedy, everyone is trying to support Santos’ now widow and three kids.




“It’s sad to see these kids are going to have no father,” said a neighbor of Santos.




His co-workers at Wells Fargo are even there to support the family. The bank issued a statement saying, ”We are deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Noel. He has been part of the Wells Fargo family since 2010 and will be missed tremendously. We offer our sincere condolences to his wife, children and family.”




Right now, the family is making final funeral arrangements.

Three people were injured today were injured during a head-on collision on State 55.




Authorities and rescue workers were called just before 10 a.m. to the highway near the intersection with Fish Creek Road. Staff Sgt. Corey Besaw of the Outagamie County Sheriff's Department said a 74-year-old Appleton woman traveling northbound was inattentive, crossed the center line and struck a southbound sport-utility vehicle.




The woman and her passenger, a 79-year-old Appleton woman, were airlifted from the scene by the Eagle III helicopter with potential internal injuries. The driver of the SUV, a 51-year-old Nichols woman, suffered a broken leg and was taken by ambulance to a hospital.




Authorities closed to down a portion of the highway for more than an hour to allow for response and clean-up. None of the injuries suffered in the crash are thought to be life- threatening.

A sheriff’s deputy and another person were hospitalized after a traffic collision involving a patrol car in Diamond Bar on Tuesday afternoon, authorities said.
The Los Angeles County Fire Department was called to the crash just before 12:30 p.m. at South Diamond Bar Boulevard and Grand Avenue, fire Inspector Rick Flores said.

Aerial video showed a Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department’s patrol car with its front end smashed, and a white Lexus sedan that appeared to have been side-swiped. The intersection was shut down and scattered with debris. Multiple patrol cars were on scene by 1 p.m.

A deputy and another person were transported by ground ambulance just to get checked out, said Lt. John Saleeby of the sheriff’s Walnut Station.

The deputy was responding to a rescue call when the collision occurred, Saleeby said. It was not known if the patrol car’s lights and siren were on at the time of the crash.

The call originally came in as a traffic collision with two people trapped, Flores said.
