Albuquerque, NM
An Albuquerque firefighter was injured Saturday afternoon when he fell from a ladder while attacking a house fire in the northwest part of the city.
The firefighter injured his knee when he fell less than 10 feet from a ladder leading to an attic inside the home, a fire department spokesman said.
The fire began early this afternoon and firefighters arrived at the two-story home on Rio Cebolla Court around 2:45 p.m.
They quickly attacked the fire, which had spread to the home's roof.
The owner told firefighters that he burning weeds and caught a tree on fire and, later, the house. None of the occupants was injured.
