A woman was killed Monday morning in what police are
calling a tragic accident involving a gravel truck.
Investigators say the work truck hit and killed the
woman at her home on Sellerstown Road south of Cherryville.
According to police, Betty Braswell Still, 79, was in
front of the truck, and the driver, Dana Leonard Poston, 53, did not see her.
The truck is owned by Kerns Trucking in Grover.
The company was delivering gravel to Still’s home for
her driveway.
A call was made to emergency officials shortly after
10:30 a.m.
