Four firefighters were injured when the Dallas Fire
Department's Ladder Truck 24 collided with a cement mixer and a pickup truck
shortly before noon Tuesday, authorities said.
The firetruck was headed to a 911 call about a structure
fire when it collided with a cement mixer near the intersection of South 2nd
Avenue and Hatcher Street, officials said. The cement truck then rolled into a
Chevy pickup truck after the collision.
Authorities said the four firefighters were taken to
Baylor University Medical Center with injuries that were not life threatening.
The drivers of the cement and pickup trucks were also taken to nearby
hospitals.
DFR's hazmat team is at the scene working on cleaning
fuel spilled in the wreck.
Investigators are still trying to determine the cause of
the crash.
