ROCHELLE PARK, N.J. (WABC)
Route 17 in New Jersey has reopened after a tractor-trailer
hauling McDonald's meals flipped, closing part of the southbound highway for
nearly six hours.
Around 12:30 a.m. Thursday, the vehicle flipped on the
southbound side near West Passaic Street, striking the corner of a building and
taking down several power lines.
The vehicle has been pulled into a parking lot. Crews worked
to clear the scene and remove items from the truck, which was towed into a
nearby parking lot.
Hundreds of prepackaged meals, including Happy Meals and breakfast
sandwiches, were off loaded after the morning commute ended. There are no
reports of serious injuries.
The cause of the wreck is unclear and is under
investigation. Excessive speed, evasive
moves, blown tires, etc will cause such types of flip over accidents.
