FRUITLAND TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — A section of
southbound US-31 south of Whitehall has reopened after it was closed for a
crash involving approximately 40 vehicles, according to Michigan State Police.
The crash shut down southbound US-31 at White Lake Drive
in Muskegon County around 1 p.m. Wednesday. According to MSP, people were
driving too fast in white-out conditions when the crash occurred.
Of the approximately 40 vehicles involved in the crash,
MSP said four were semi-trucks.
While no serious injuries were reported in the incident,
one person suffered non-life threatening injuries, police said.
