SCHOOL BUS, TRACTOR-TRAILER SCENE CLEARED FROM MORNING WRECK ON CUMMING HWY. IN GEORGIA. HAZ MAT TEAMS DEALT WITH THE RUPTURED FUEL TANK.

Ga. 20 and Hightower Road, the scene of a bus/truck wreck earlier this morning, has now been cleared by the Cherokee County HazMat team and is open for traffic, said Lt. Jay Baker, spokesman for the Cherokee County Sheriff's Office. The accident involved Cherokee County School District bus no. 399. 



One student was on the bus and was not injured, according to CCSD spokesperson Barbara Jacoby. The bus driver was taken by ambulance to a local hospital with minor injuries, according to officials. The tractor-trailer driver was uninjured.



The accident happened around 7:30 a.m., Jan. 7.



Cherokee County Fire and Emergency Services crews had to deal with a leaking ruptured fuel tank, containing 80 gallons of diesel fuel, according to Fire Chief Tim Prather.
