TERRELL, Texas — Officials are investigating a man’s apparent electrocution death in Terrell.
Yesterday, at approximately 11:50 a.m., the Terrell Fire Department and Terrell Fire Marshal resounded to Ter-Jan Carpet Cleaning located at 307 West Moore Avenue for a man who was electrocuted in the attic of the business, according to the Terrell Police Department Captain A.D. Sansom.
The man, identified as 42-year-old Raudel Rivera of Fort Worth, Texas, was transported to Lake Pointe Medical Center in Forney, Texas, where he was later pronounced deceased.
Rivera was working as a helper for a Waxahachie-based company installing a new air conditioner at the business at the time of the incident, according to police.
“The contractor reportedly went to the truck and when he returned he observed his helper had been injured and was unresponsive,” stated Sansom.
Emergency personnel performed CPR on Rivera while in the attic of the business and were later able to get Rivera out of the attic and into an awaiting ambulance for transportation to the hospital.
The contractor was also transported to an area hospital but no injuries were reported.
The Terrell Police Department will be working with the City of Terrell Fire Marshall, Building Inspector, and Code Enforcement to investigate the death. -
