TUKWILA, Wash. -

An employee was rushed to the hospital with serious burns following an overnight fire at an auto shop in Tukwila.

Crews were dispatched to the scene, in the 19600 block of Orillia Road South, at about 11:45 p.m. Monday after receiving a 911 call reporting a fire from an unknown source, said a Tukwila fire official.

Responding firefighters found a fifth-wheel trailer and nearby brush fully ablaze, and a security guard with serious burns. He was taken to Harborview Medical Center and is expected to survive his injuries.

More engines and ladder trucks were called in, and crews managed to prevent the flames from spreading beyond the trailer and nearby bushes.

Orillia Road South was shut down in both directions for a short time between South 200th and South 188th streets, due to fire hose laid across the street. All lanes have now reopened.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
