Man charged with wrong-way head-on crash that killed popular cab driver in Saginaw, Michigan

SAGINAW (WJRT) - (07/06/15) -

A Saginaw man is now facing charges after an accident in May that claimed the life of a well-loved cab driver.

29 year old Jon Brown was arrested over the weekend.

Monday, he went before a Bay County judge on two felony counts, including driving drunk, causing death. That charge alone is punishable by up to 15 years behind bars.

Brown is accused of driving the wrong way on I-75 in Monitor Township at around 3:30 a.m. on May 17th. Police say he hit the cab driven by Barry Campbell head-on.

Brown's blood alcohol level was taken nearly three hours after the accident and was 0.10. The legal limit is 0.08. Campbell died from chest trauma. His passenger was badly hurt.

During Monday's arraignment, Brown still had a cast on his arm and a brace on his leg from the crash. Court records show he claims he does not remember the accident.

Bond is set at $250,000.
