HOUSTON, TEXAS
An investigation is underway after a woman crashed her car into a tree, killing another woman in her car, police said.
The crash happened early Tuesday morning in the 5100 block of Airport Boulevard, according to HPD Sgt. JR Roberts.
Sgt. Roberts said the vehicle, with one driver and three passengers, was heading westbound when the driver left the roadway and crashed. The front-seat passenger was taken to the hospital by Life Flight where she later died. Two other passengers were taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Police said the driver was not under the influence.
According to statements at the scene, it's believed the vehicle's brakes failed shortly before the crash.
