MOORHEAD, Minn. (KMSP)
One person is dead after being struck by a train
in Moorhead, Minn. on Saturday morning. A southbound train dragged the
vehicle for about a third of a mile before stopping.
The fatal incident occurred on the 2000 block of 60th Avenue South around 9 a.m.
According to Clay County Sheriff Bill Bergquist, witnesses said both crossing arms at the intersection were down at the time, and one was broken through by the vehicle.
The deceased person is unidentifiable at this time due to burn wounds. The BNSF and sheriff's office are investigating the details of the incident.
