200 gallons of fuel spilled onto the bank and into the Hocking River in Lancaster, OH after reckless driver crashes his semi-truck

US 33 reopened after morning crash








The truck, carrying a load of plastic for recycling, struck road signs and a guard rail before rolling over onto its side on the bridge going over the Hocking River.

The truck's fuel tank was ruptured in the crash and some diesel fuel, an estimated 177 gallons, spilled onto the bank of the river and into the Hocking River.

Fairfield County Sheriff's deputies, Berne Township firefighters and EMS, the Fairifeld County Hazmat team and the Ohio EPA responded to the crash that occurred at 1:37 a.m. Friday.

Rogers was not injured in the crash. The highway was reopened around 930 a.m.

Rogers was cited for failure to control, according to Fairfield County Sheriff''s Office reports.
