PRATT, KANSAS

Heavy rain may have played a factor in a deadly crash that killed two people from Haysville.
It happened on Highway 54 west of Pratt around 11 Saturday morning.
The Kansas Highway Patrol troopers tell Eyewitness News that a semi-truck heading east, drifted into the westbound traffic. It crashed into an oncoming car and both vehicles went into the ditch. A third car was also struck.
The people inside the first car the semi hit -- Nasario and Mary Lou Trujillo of Haysville -- were both killed.
Two people in the third car were hurt and taken to the hospital in Pratt.
The crash closed down the highway for several hours.
Authorities say the semi leaked 200 gallons of diesel fuel into the ditch. Hazmat crews were on the scene cleaning up the spill well into this evening.
Trooper Chad say the water will eventually make it's way into a river, which will make its way into people's drinking water."
A third vehicle was also involved in the crash.
