1 dead, 1 critically injured after Brampton crash in Toronto

One man is dead and another suffered critical injuries after a vehicle collided into a pole in Brampton early Saturday morning, Peel paramedics confirm.
The incident happened sometime before 2:30 a.m. on Cotrelle Boulevard, in the area of Gore and Thorndale roads.

Peel police say the 25-year-old driver was pronounced dead at the scene while a 20-year-old passenger was transported to a Toronto trauma centre.

Police say they are looking into the possibility that speed and alcohol could have been factors in the crash and are asking anyone who may have witnessed the incident to contact them.
