1 WORKER CRUSHED TO DEATH BY ROLLING CONCRETE BEAM AT STRESS-CON INDUSTRIES PLANT #3, IN ZILWAUKEE TOWNSHIP, MICHIGAN

A workplace accident Thursday morning in Zilwaukee Township resulted in one man's death. 

A 50-year-old employee of Stress-Con Industries, located at 6010 Melbourne Road, was killed around 9:30 a.m., when a concrete section from a bridge beam rolled over him as it was being transferred from one area to another, crushing him. 

The victim has been identified as  Steve Rivera of Saginaw.

The accident happened at the company's Plant 3, which closed operations for the day. 

The accident is being investigated by the Saginaw County Sheriff's Department, the Michigan Occupational Safety and Health Administration and the Michigan Department of Transportation.
