PARSHALL, NORTH DAKOTA

No injuries were reported after a fire near Parshall last night.

EOG Resources spokeswoman K. Leonard says EOG experienced a natural gas leak and fire on an 8-inch pipeline at a site about three miles west of Parshall.

EOG personnel shut off valves which feed natural gas into the line to extinguish the fire just after midnight.

The nearby compressor station was not involved in the incident but has been shut-in as a precaution.

Mountrail County Emergency Manager Don Longmuir says there was equipment damage including three frack-tanks and a fresh water tank.

Longmuir says EOG crews are on site today building a berm to contain fresh water leaking from the damaged tank.

North Dakota Oil and Gas spokeswoman Alison Ritter said that no environmental damage is expected.
