SEMI CRASH THROUGH THE GUARDRAIL AND DOWN AN EMBANKMENT CAUSES FUEL LEAK ON I-24 IN NASHVILLE, TN

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – A tractor trailer ran off the road early Friday morning crashing into a guardrail and causing a diesel fuel leak in south Nashville.

Police on scene told News 2 the driver was traveling west on Interstate 24 near Briley Parkway when he left the roadway around 4:30 a.m.

The semi crashed through the guardrail and down an embankment. The driver wasn’t injured.

The off-ramp remained open, but the wreck slowed traffic in the area.

HAZMAT crews were called to the scene to help clear the fuel leak.
The accident was cleared by 6:30 a.m.
