A worker is dead after falling 40 feet from an electronic billboard in Winnebago County, Illinois

UPDATE: CHERRY VALLEY, Ill. (WIFR) -- The Winnebago County Coroner's Office says a worker is dead after falling from a billboard Wednesday afternoon.

The Coroner's Office says 60-year-old Bradley Mitchell was doing maintenance work on an electronic billboard at Newburg and Perryville near the CherryVale Mall when he fell about 40 feet.

When first responders arrived, coworkers told them that Mitchell was unresponsive and not breathing.

Despite all medical efforts, Mitchell was pronounced dead at the hospital.

An autopsy is pending by the Coroner's Office.

CHERRY VALLEY, Ill. (WIFR) -- Investigators say a worker has serious injuries after he was hurt while working on a billboard at Perryville and Newburg, near the CherryVale Mall.

We're told first responders were performing CPR on the worker before he was taken to a local hospital.
