Bridge collapse near Sealy kills child and injures a woman (KTRK)

SEALY, TX (KTRK) -- An accident involving a bridge and an 18-wheeler has killed a child and seriously injured a woman near Sealy.
Police say an 18-wheeler crashed into a bridge in Sealy causing a bridge to collapse on a car. (KTRK)
The intersection of Highway 36 at Highway 90 has been shutdown after the big rig crashed into an overpass.
Life Flight was dispatched to the scene, where three people were extracted from a car, including two children.
A 12-year-old girl has died from her injuries. Another child was able to get out safely. The female driver was taken by Life Flight to the hospital with a chest injury.
Investigators say part of the overpass fell on top of their vehicle after the disposal truck's boom struck the overpass, causing the collapse.
