Police said James Wolf, 61, of Largo, Florida, died in the head-on crash, along with Jaden Rock, 16, of Somerset.
WESTOVER, PA – State police in Punxsutawney said a 61-year-old Florida man and a 16-year-old teenager from Somerset were killed in a head-on collision Tuesday in Clearfield County.
Police said James Wolf of Largo, Florida, died in the crash.
The teen has been identified as Jaden Rock, of Somerset, by Clearfield County Coroner Mike Morris.
Neither was wearing a seat belt and both were ejected from the 1989 Chevrolet Corvette, police said.
Ernest Miller, 36, of Irvona, the driver of the second vehicle, a 2013 Isuzu NPR HD, was taken to the hospital for minor treatment. Police said he was wearing a seat belt.
Police said the crash occurred at 4:35 p.m. Tuesday on South Main Street.
Rock had just completed his sophomore year at Rockwood Area High School, which issued a statement through Superintendent Mark R. Bower:"The Rockwood Area School Community is deeply saddened by the tragic loss of one of our students. The student's family and friends are in our thoughts and prayers. A crisis team of counselors will be available to meet with students and staff at the high school during the day on Thursday and Friday starting at 9 a.m."
