HOUSTON (KTRK) -- A disabled woman was killed in a two-alarm fire on Houston's south side that also sent her husband and a teenage neighbor to the hospital.

Houston firefighters responded to the home in the 4700 block of Teton Street at Calhoun around 8:30pm.

One woman was pronounced dead at the scene. Two men -- an elderly patient with burns and a 19-year-old neighbor with smoke inhalation -- were transported to the hospital. The teen was one of two neighbors who kicked in the back door to try to save the residents.

The female victim was wheelchair-bound, according to friends at the scene.

The fire was so intense that a firefighter was unaccounted for at one point. The Houston Arson Bureau is currently investigating the cause of the fire. No firefighters were injured.
