Suspect arrested, Denver police say

DENVER, COLORADO

Three people were seriously injured, two suffering burns, when an SUV sparked a fiery crash involving four other vehicles early Monday morning.

The crash occurred around 6:30 a.m. on 44th Avenue and Federal Boulevard.
Denver police tweeted that they are investigating the incident as a hit-and run and they have a suspect in custody.

AirTracker7 flew over the wreckage and showed a badly burned Jeep in the middle of the road, and three other damaged vehicles on the side of the road.
A witness told the Denver Post that he saw a driver and a passenger in the Jeep engulfed in flames after the Jeep exploded.

Another witness told the newspaper that a white Dodge Durango was weaving in and out of traffic, running red lights before the wreck, and then sped off after the crash.
Traffic in the area was shut down for some time.
The conditions of the injured and the name of the suspect have not been released.
