ANDERSON, SC (FOX Carolina) -
The Anderson County Coroner's Office confirmed it responded to a crash involving an ATV on Monday.
Dispatch said the crash happened on Jasmine Drive near Auburn Avenue and Beverly Lane at 4:50 p.m.
The coroner said two sixteen-year-old's were riding the ATV and came around a curve at a high speed, and were ejected.
The coroner said the ATV landed on the head of a rider. He died at the scene.
The driver of the ATV was taken to AnMed with a head injury.
"ATV's aren't made to ride on highway, speed was certainly a factor in this case and this is just a tragic proof of the dangers," said the coroner.
