A man was killed early Saturday on Interstate 95 after rear-ending a U-Haul truck in Hollywood, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
The crash happened shortly after 6 a.m. on the southbound lanes of I-95 just north of Stirling Road, Sgt. Mark Wysocky said.
The driver of a white 2007 Ford F-150 pickup, Ranier Bruges, of Miami, rammed into a U-Haul truck with two occupants.
Authorities said the driver of the U-Haul, Osniel Hernandez, had slowed and was attempting to enter the highway shoulder due to a mechanical issue when the crash occurred.
The three men involved in the crash were transported to Memorial Regional Hospital, where Bruges, 32, was pronounced dead, Wysocky said.
Hernandez, 31, and his passenger, Osley Hernandez Calvo, 34, both of Sunrise, were treated for minor injuries, he said.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
