Bergenfield doctor accused of sexually assaulting employees, patient
BERGENFIELD, NJ (WABC) --
A doctor from New Jersey is under arrest, accused of sexually assaulting employees and a patient.Bergen County Prosecutor John Molinelli on Thursday announced the charges against 54-year-old Dr. Raja Jagtiani, of Dumont.
Authorities say that on July, 25, an employee reported to the Bergenfield Police Department that she was touched on her breast and bit on the facial cheek while she was working with Dr. Jagtiani.
During the course of the investigation, additional victims of sexual contact and harassment were identified and later interviewed. These victims, totaling four in number at this time, include current and former employees, as well as one patient.
As a result, Dr. Jagtiaini was taken into custody Tuesday and charged with five counts of criminal sexual contact, three counts of harassment by offensive touching and one count of simple assault.
Bail was set at $20,000 with no 10 percent option, and Jagtiania was ordered to have no contact with the victims. He was forced to surrender his passport and cannot apply for a new one as conditions of bail.
