BARRY COUNTY, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) -
A man was airlifted to the hospital after being pinned under a massive tree limb in Barry County.
A witness tells us he saw some men trying to cut down a tree Saturday.
They apparently wanted to cut one of the limbs so it wouldn't take down a telephone pole.
But the limb did not come down according to plan.
"That limb came down, hit him on the head. He flew over there and there's the blood spot and landed on his feet. And his friend hollered for us right away and it took four of us to take that limb off of his feet," said witness Paul Bloem.
The sheriff's department says the limb was about 18 inches in diameter.
Right now there is no word on the victim's condition.
