Wrong-way crash with police car kills motorcycle rider on Beltway 8 at US 90 in Houston, Texas

A motorcycle rider traveling the wrong way on the Beltway hit an unmarked police car. The rider died.

HOUSTON, TEXAS (KTRK) -- 

 

All main lanes of East Sam Houston Tollway southbound at US 90 in northeast Harris County are shut down due to two vehicle accident.

Police say a 20-year-old motorcycle rider got onto the Beltway going the wrong direction. He then hit an unmarked Pasadena Police Department car.

The motorcycle rider died. The detective inside the police car was not injured.

The accident is still under investigation. Police did not say when the main lanes might reopen.
