THERE GOES OUR MILK AGAIN: MILK TRUCK CRASH WASTES 25,000 POUNDS OF MILK CARTONS IN SACRAMENTO, CALIFORNIA

SACRAMENTO, CALIFORNIA

A big rig carrying 25,000 pounds of milk cartons overturned Monday morning on a State Route 99 off ramp in Sacramento, spilling milk onto the road, the California Highway Patrol said.

The 47th Avenue off-ramp from northbound State Route 99 and eastbound 47th Avenue were expected to be closed for several hours while crews cleaned up the spill. CHP said the big rig driver was traveling at an unsafe speed on the off ramp before the crash.

The crash remains under investigation.  The more typical flip of the truck occurs when the driver goes too fast and fails to negotiate the curve.
