Watchstanders at Coast Guard Sector Delaware Bay received notification through VHF Channel 16 of a disabled 14-foot pleasure craft with three boaters aboard.
Sector Delaware Bay watchstanders instructed the three passengers to put on their life jackets and launched the AUXSARDET boat crew.
The AUXSARDET crew arrived on scene near the Commodore Barry Bridge and found the boat wedged under a pier with the boaters still aboard.
The AUXSARDET crew positioned themselves to throw a heaving line, then established a tow and took the disabled boat to Barry Bridge Park.
“It was tough maneuvering under the pier to do the rescue,” said Auxiliarist Maureen Lucas, a crewmember aboard involved in the case. “Thankfully no one was hurt and everyone was safe.”
