TRUCK CRASHES INTO GUARDRAIL ON MORGAN COUNTY BRIDGE IN SOMERVILLE, ALABAMA, AFTER COLLIDING WITH TRACTOR TRAILER

MARCH 28, 2015

SOMERVILLE, ALABAMA (WHNT)

One person was injured in a collision between a truck pulling a flatbed trailer and an 18-wheeler on Saturday.

It happened on Highway 36 between Hartselle and Somerville near the intersection with Hobb Ward Road around 4:30 PM.

Troopers on the scene said the 18-wheeler struck the trailer and hit the guard rail, one wheel of the truck dangling over the stream below.  Just your All American truck driver.

This blocked traffic in both directions for more than an hour.

Police say they called Department of Transportation crews to determine how to mend the guard rail. They believe the bridge will still be safe to drive on.
