MARCH 11, 2015

MULESHOE, TX (KCBD)
Three people were injured after a water tank exploded at the Minsa plant in Muleshoe on Wednesday morning.

Back in January, federal safety inspectors cited the corn flour mill for exposing workers to explosion and electric shock hazards.

Minsa Corporation was cited for 33 serious violations and $151,200 in fines.
This came after a federal inspection in July of 2014.

The fines were issued by the U.S. Department of Labor in January of 2015.
According to the U.S. Department of Labor's Occupational Safety and Health Administration's documents, Minsa Corp. had until February to abate the violations and pay the proposed penalties.
