SHELOCTA, ARMSTRONG COUNTY, PENNSYLVANIA

State police at the Kittanning barracks have confirmed there was a collision between a school bus and a coal truck in Armstrong County this afternoon.

It occurred about 3 p.m. on Route 422 and Sleepy Hollow Road in Plumcreek, state police said.

Director Randall Brozenick said preliminary information indicates the truck hit the back of the bus, leaving it with minor damage.

He said one of the 15 students aboard the bus was being transported to a hospital with minor injuries. The other students and both drivers were uninjured.

Brozenick said the crash apparently happened during a snow squall in the area.
