LIEUTENANT PARKER WAS PRONOUNCED DEAD AT MEDICAL CENTER-NAVICENT HEALTH AND AT LEAST FIVE OTHER FIREFIGHTERS WERE INJURED AFTER A STRUCTURAL COLLAPSE

RANDY PARKER

Lieutenant Parker was pronounced dead at Medical Center-Navicent Health and at least five other firefighters were injured after a structural collapse occurred while fire crews were operating inside of a burning residential structure. 

According to media reports, the Bibb County coroner said Lieutenant Parker died from burns and smoke inhalation. Three of the injured firefighters are being treated at the Augusta Burn Center; one of the three was in critical condition and airlifted to the Center. The fatal fire incident remains under investigation by authorities. Incident Location: 2320 Fairview Drive (U.S. National Grid: 17S KS 4749 3031).
