GARBAGE TRUCK SLIDES ON ICE, CRASHES INTO RACEWAY GAS STATION IN SOUTH BRUNSWICK AND DAMAGES THE BUILDING

SOUTH BRUNSWICK, NEW JERSEY:







A garbage truck slid on ice this morning an crashed into a Raceway gas station, according to police.




The accident occurred shortly after 7 a.m. at the Raceway on Route 1 in South Brunswick.South Brunswick police .




The building was damaged, but police said there were no injuries.




Police said the accident occurred about 7:13 a.m. when the truck struck the building, located at 4020 Route 1.




South Brunswick police said there were 14 accidents due to the icy weather today.




Also, one pedestrian fell on a sidewalk and one person fell off a bicycle.




Police reported several traffic accidents in Middlesex County and elsewhere in New Jersey this morning due to icy conditions.




Speed restrictions of 45 mph are in place on the New Jersey Turnpike and on the Garden State Parkway due to icy conditions and predictions of a wintery mix. One section of the Turnpike between I-195 and Exit 12 in Carteret was dropped to 35 mph.
