VIRGINIA Beach man killed in A PICKUP TRUCK wreck after fleeing traffic stop

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (AP) - A Virginia Beach man has died after fleeing a traffic stop and wrecking his vehicle.




Virginia Beach police identified the man as 30-year-old Travis Martin Hill.



Police say in a news release that an officer stopped a pickup truck driven by Hill for suspicion of drunken driving around 1 a.m. Sunday. The truck then fled at a high rate of speed.




Police say Hill lost control of the truck while trying to make a left turn and the vehicle hit a tree.




Hill was pronounced dead at a local hospital.




The incident remains under investigation.
