ARMINGTON JUNCTION -- U.S. Highway 87 between Eddie's Corner and Armington Junction was closed Friday night for several hours after two semi-trucks collided with each other.
The incident happened around 10:30 Friday night near mile marker 26.
According to the Montana Highway Patrol both semis were traveling westbound with several other vehicles nearby.
When one of those vehicles slid on the road and stopped one of the semis stopped as well.
However, another vehicle following that semi went around it and the second semi-truck was unable to stop in time, hitting the first semi.
Several emergency crews responded to the scene including the Montana Highway Patrol, Geyser Fire, and Judith Basin County Sheriff's deputies.
Hazmat was also called out as a precaution.
The road was cleared around 4:00am.
No serious injuries were reported.

(January 2, 2015) The Montana Department of Transportation reports that US Highway 87 is closed from Armington Junction to Eddie's Corner due to several crashes and slide-offs and treacherous driving conditions.
Blowing snow and gusty winds are creating white-out conditions on most roads in the region.
The MDT has posted on its Twitter feed the following updates:
- TWO SEMIS HAVE CRASHED HEAD-ON ON US87 MM26 on US-87 - ON US 87 AT MM26 NEAR STANFORD; MDT, EMS, FIRE AND HAZMAT ARE RESPONDING
- Severe Driving Conditions on US-87 - BIG SANDY TO BOX ELDER from milepost 78.9 to 88.5
- Road Closed on MT-3 - GEYSER TO THE JCT WITH US-89 (ARMINGTON JCT)
Cascade County Sheriff Bob Edwards says that the MDT has advised that US 87 from Armington Junction to Eddie's Corner will remain closed until the accident scene is cleared, and that it may take several hours as one of the trucks was hauling hazardous materials.
Here are some of areas where slide-offs and crashes have been reported; we do not know if anyone involved has been injured.

UPDATE: The MDT reports that US Highway 87 re-opened early Saturday.

The MDT has several tools to track current road conditions.
