Fire crews investigating fire on Acushnet Avenue in New Bedford, Mass.
NEW BEDFORD, Mass. (WPRI) — A security guard making the rounds at a senior housing complex reported fire at the Euphoria Lounge early Tuesday morning.Right now, fire crews are removing charred debris from the backside of the building located at 289 Acushnet Avenue.
The flames did cause some damage to the back wall of the lounge, but the majority of the inside appears to be intact.
Fire crews tried to gain access through an exterior door only to discover a gas line was running through part of the wall.
They say it could have been very serious had crews not seen the gas line while cutting through the wall.
Investigators are scouring the area searching for clues amongst the rubble.
The state fire marshal has also been called to the scene.
They would not yet comment on if the fire is suspicious.
