The Wittmann Fire Department responded to a two-vehicle car accident on U.S. 60 that left and adult and four children injured on Sunday morning, according to a department spokesman.

The collision involved a semi-truck on U.S. 60 near Milepost 134 northeast of Phoenix, less than a mile east of Jomax Road, according to Wittmann Fire Capt. Johnny Padilla, a spokesman with the department.

Five people, including one adult and four children, were injured, he said.

Padilla said two of the children required immediate care and were flown by helicopter to a local hospital with possible life-threatening injuries.

The adult and two other children had minor non-life threatening injuries, he said.
