ACCIDENT CLOSES PART OF WRENTHAM, MASS. ROAD AFTER TRUCK HITS UTILITY POLE.  POLE WAS SNAPPED IN HALF



WRENTHAM, MASSACHUSETTS - Route 140 in Wrentham was closed for a while Saturday night after a pickup truck crashed into a utility pole near King Philip Regional High School on Franklin Street sometime after 8 p.m.

The single-vehicle accident caused heavy damage to the pole, forcing it to snap in half, according to the Wrentham Police Department's Facebook page.

Traffic was redirected to Shears Street and the road remained closed until about 10 p.m., when the pole was secured by National Grid, police said.

The cause of the accident is being investigated by Wrentham Police.
