THE WEST COAST STORM DAMAGES CONTINUE TO PILE UP: TREE FALLS ONTO CASINO'S PROPANE TANK, STARTS MASSIVE FIRE

THE WEST COAST STORM DAMAGES CONTINUE TO PILE UP: Tree falls onto casino's 18,000 GALLON propane tank, starts massive fire

You would have thought that someone would locate an 18,000-gallon propane tank away from big trees.  Not in Olympia, I guess.

OLYMPIA, Wash. —

During Thursday night’s serious storm conditions, a tree fell onto Red Wind Casino’s propane tank and started a massive fire.

The two-alarm fire broke out at around 9:30 p.m.

Police said the 18,000 gallon propane tank was cracked open by the fallen tree.

The casino complex was evacuated, and Highway 510 was closed down in both directions near the casino.

Around 10:10 p.m., police said that along Highway 510, troopers were conducting nearby traffic as needed, and that the roadway was opened.
