ELKHART COUNTY, Indiana —

Police say one person is dead after a truck and train collision.

Police say 23-year old Franky Reeves of Osceola died after driving a truck around downed crossing arms at Ash Road.

A passing freight train hit the truck. The truck burst into flames.

Reeves was pronounced dead at the scene.

The crash happened around 4:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Ash Road rail crossing, near the county line. The train pushed the truck almost a mile down the road into Elkhart County.

Traffic was blocked on Lincolnway in Elkhart County, from State Road 19 to Ash Road, but the road is now open.

This driver was trying to save few minutes of driving and he end up losing his life.  Stupid, stupid, stupid.  Thank god nobody else was inside his truck.  He will not do that again.
