An Immokalee woman died Thursday afternoon after being run over by a farm truck on a Manatee County tomato field.

The woman, identified as Angelina Mateo, 62, was walking down an aisle in a tomato field at 40700 Ballard Road in Myakka City, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

The driver of a farm truck was backing down the same aisle and didn't see the woman behind him, an FHP report states. The farm truck continued backing into the aisle, and the truck struck Mateo.

She died at the scene, FHP reported.
