A construction worker suffered electrical burns in Alexandria, VA when a power line fell on him

ALEXANDRIA, Va. - A construction worker was injured in an industrial accident in Alexandria when a power line fell on him resulting in electrical burns.

The accident happened along the 700 block of Wythe Street around 8 a.m. The injured worker was on the ground while another worker was operating a crane. The crane operator struck a power line causing it to fall on the victim. The victim was hospitalized and remains in critical but stable condition.


Several homes and businesses in the area suffered power loss after the accident. Traffic lights at several area intersections were also out prompting police to alert motorists to treat dark intersections as 4-way stops.
