Bunker tanker MERCURIA suffered explosion and fire in Taranto, Italy, on Sep 22. Two crew were slightly injured. Fire was quickly extinguished by fire fighters, thick black smoke was seen far from the port area. Explosion supposedly was caused by sparks during maintenance works.
