Gas explosion demolishes home, injures people in the Gentilly Terrace neighborhood of New Orlean

New Orleans Fire Department personnel responded to a reported house explosion Sunday (July 10) near the 2700 block of Jasmine Street in the Gentilly Terrace neighborhood.


Several units were on the scene after an explosion and an unknown number of injuries were reported at 8:31 a.m. At least three sides of one structure were fully involved in fire when first responders arrived, and there were reports of some power lines down in the area.

Burning debris from the explosion had landed on at least one adjacent roof.
