Construction worker electrocuted in Galesburg working on new Kohl’s store

A construction worker helping build a new Kohl’s store in Galesburg died Friday morning from electrocution.
According to Galesburg police, authorities were called to the construction site at Veteran’s Drive in Seminary Square around 6:30 a.m. Friday for a possible electrocution. Benjamin M. Corben, 33, had been on a ladder, working with an electrical circuit when the accident occurred. He was transported to OSF St. Mary Medical Center in Galesburg where he was pronounced dead.
Corben was an employee of Mangieri Electric of Galesburg
