One woman had to be airlifted to the hospital Sunday morning after her boat's engine exploded on the St. Joseph River.
Police say a husband and wife in their 60s were bringing their 26-foot boat back to their slip at the Eagle Pointe Harbor Marina in Saint Joseph due to engine problems.
Once they got to the marina, the engine exploded.
The woman suffered serious burns, and her husband had minor injuries.
Both were taken to a local hospital. The woman was then flown to Bronson Hospital in Kalamazoo.
Authorities are now investigating what caused the explosion.
