SWANTON, Vt. -
A HAZMAT response in Swanton.
First responders were called to Foundry Street Saturday afternoon.
Officials say there appears to be some sort of gas being discharged into the Missisquoi River. However, officials are still trying to locate the source of the leak. In the mean time crews are using floating booms to contain the gas.
The state HAZMAT team and the Agency of Natural Resources have been notified.
